Pasture Rose

From May to June, fragrant, pink two-inch flowers appear on this shrub. Red rose hips emerge in August. In the fall, the dark green foliage turns reddish. It often spreads by suckers to form thickets or colonies and forms a loose ground cover at least twice as tall as wide. The rose hips provide wildlife food and make this an excellent choice for plantings such as the quail covey headquarters.
