Common Name: Prairie Willow
Fuzzy flowers open in early spring before the small gray-green leaves appear on 4" long branches. This willow prefers drier sites, unlike others of its species. It provides dense thickets for wildlife. Rabbits and deer eat twigs, leaves and shoots while the nectar is used by bees to provide high quality honey.
