Chrysopsis villosum (Hairy Golden Aster)

Shrub-like perennial with hairy grey-green foliage topped with disks of ray flowers. Drought resistant and typically found in dry, rocky soils of prairies and plains. The Cheyenne Indians used the tops and stems to make a soothing tea to aid in sleep. Leaves were also burned to keep evil spirits away.
