Prunus americana (Wild Plum)

Grown as a single trunk tree or a multi-stemmed shrub, this native tree is among the first to bloom in spring with pure white, fragrant flowers. The edible, one-inch diameter yellow-to-red fruits are favored by birds. They also are used to make flavorful jams and jellies.
