Claytonia virginica (Spring Beauty)

Small, five-petalled, pinkish-white flowers bloom in loose, open clusters from February through May. Plants will naturalize and form colonies over time, giving a soft, carpet-like effect. Like other ephemerals, plants become dormant after they bloom but reappear reliably in subsequent years.
