Common Name: Dutchman's Pipe-vine
Dark green, heart-shaped leaves grow up to 15 in. long and wide. Adult pipevine swallowtail butterflies lay their eggs on the foliage. When the caterpillars hatch, they feed on the leaves. Odd-looking, pipe-shaped flowers bloom in May and June. A vigorous woody vine that climbs by twisitng around a sturdy support. It produces deep shade because the foliage is so dense. Food source for the Swallowtail Butterfly.
