Celastrus scandens (American Bittersweet)

Hanging clusters of bright red-orange fruit open in the fall. A variety of wildlife eat the berries. Plants are male or female and both sexes are needed for fruit set. This twining woody vine will grow vertically or sprawl horizontally over bushes and fences.
