Common Name: Meadow Blazing Star
The crimson-red buds of this most unusual blazingstar burst open to reveal brilliant purple/pink flowers in August and September. Unlike the characteristic single flower spike of most blazingstars, Meadow Blazingstar is widely branched, and numerous individual flowers bloom over an extended period of time. Grows three to five feet tall, in rich, loamy soils. Unsurpassed at attracting Monarch butterflies, the seeds are also a Goldfinch favorite!
