Carex emoryi
Carex emoryi
Common Name: Emory's Sedge
A wetland native that forms dense tussocks of straw-colored leaves at the base with bright green new growth emerging from the top. An emergent aquatic, this sedge tolerates full sun to part shade and thrives in wet to moist soil. Narrow, grass-like leaves add a graceful appearance along a pond edge or in a rain garden. This plant suckers rapidly and is especially useful where erosion is a problem.
